Essential oils work the way they were designed to work. They are known as the life blood of the plant, meaning they carry oxygen, minerals, and immune system to the plant where it is needed. Think of a leaf that has been torn off of you houseplant, the oozing liquid that comes to the edge of the tear to help repair it is the essential oil. They work the same with within our bodies. The DNA of humans and plants are very close in structure so the essential oils "know" what to do within our bodies. They are the life blood that carries oxygen to area of the body that is calling for it. Our body's were created and designed to be healthy and strong, essential oils were designed to help support our body's functions.

The quick answer is no, but let me explain why this is a concern to animal lovers. Since Essential Oils have been so effective and working so well, many people try to make some money by making and selling them. The problem is that in order to make an oil and sell it for cheaper, you need to put cheap synthetic fillers and fragrance enhancers to make it smell like a true essential oil. Trust me, if you compare the Lavender sold off the shelf in a grocery store or pharmacy to a bottle of pure therapeutic grade Lavender, there is no comparason. The point is this, Cats do not possess a crucial enzyme in their liver to break down and dispose of these synthetic ingredients, causing the toxins to stay in their blood. And from there, the cat can become toxic and die. So very sad to hear of the those stories. ***Always remember, that even though Young Living's oils do NOT contain any toxic ingredient, animals are more sensitive to smells. If diffusing when an animal is present, leave a door open and give them a way to "escape" ****

Essential oils are made up of tiny particles that have the ablitiy to cross the cell wall. This means that they are working at the cellular level making them very effective from the ground up. They also possess their own frequencies, allowing them to "hop on" the frequencies of our body to get to where they need to go.

Essential oils are aromatic, consentrated plant extracts that are processed into an oil for easy use and application.

The safe answer to this is to always check with your Health Care provider. Whether this may be a traditional Medical Doctor or a Natural Health provider, they will have their opinions on the matter. In my personal experience, most of my oily friends used oils all the way through without any complications or negative long term effects. I wasn't using oils at all at the time of my pregnancies so this is as personal as I can be. I think the right answer is to ask a professional, read and research, ask oily friends, and see how you feel while using them. You body has an amazing and instinctive way of protecting your little ones as they are growing inside of your body.

When people ask this question the answer I like to give is, "They are beyond organic." Let me explain what this means. In order for something to be labeled as organic in the US, the product needs to reach a standard of being "clean" enough. In order to be labeled "organic", per US standards, you just have to use the "less" potentially dangerous sprays/ herbacides that are on the market. Young Living starts the clean processing at the soil. Before crops are planted the soil is tested to make sure there are not toxic materials in it. The crops are hand weeded and they use their own essential oils to spray on the crops to keep bugs from eating them up.

Although Young Living did start as strictly and Essential Oils company, Gary Young's purpose was to get rid of chemical and toxins in every home in America. If you want to see what you're putting in your body daily, take the 3 cabinet challenge. Just google, "The harmful effects of........" fill in the blank. Little did I know that the everyday products I was using off of the grocery store shelves were poisening me and my children.
